Does anyone else see the impending flood of downloadable clothes and other stupid stuff for the avatars? and while were on the note of avatars: does anyone else find them compleatly pointless and a waste of time? cus i sure do. Avatars: milkage in a can
Yeah, I never understood their main purpose, I wonder why Rare made them anyways...Avatars: milkage in a can
They are worthless, so are the ps3's home yourself...thingys...
I couldn't make a non camp one to save my life.
I agree with you on both
Avatars are pointless and I can see the ''special Gears 2 shirts'' allready. And XBLA games based on avatars. Be prepared for the milkage.
Your a 100% right dude, what you do basically is show people what you want to look like in real life, and why wern't there any fat avatars im a big guy and i wanted a big avater, not some stick figure
I like em, But companys like MS and sony just use them as an exuse to ring in casuals.
Yes, I can see the point for them. When playing games that have a generic characters. I much rather have an Avatar or Mii which I designed for all my games. After playing so many games on the Wii which use them I have began to understand why they are so useful.
Who would you rather be if your playing a game like Buzz or a minigame collection some generic character or a character which you designed for all your games like that?
Its optional, thats all that really matters.
Milkage is defined as being forced to pay for a videogame-related item necessary to continue playing that game/console that should have been free to begin with. For instance, the Expansion Pack for the N64 was milkage.
I think I made a pretty cool avatar though :( Yeah I think they're a waste and I would be surprised if MS didn't release DLC for them.
Download food or your avatar will die and you wont be able to sign onto XBL! Yeah there will be buyable clothes, just like home, but they're optional and thus, not milkage.

The avatars are a FREE update to the X360 dashboard, and any extra clothes and accessories they may sell, are NOT a requirement. Maybe they don't serve a purpose, but you didn't have to pay for them in the 1st place, so what's the complaint?
Instead of charging for avatar items it would be cool to ''win'' them in games. Like if you get a special achievements you unlock a Gears2 shirt.
I likes my avatar, and I will probably end up caving and buying a shirt or two if the make good ones. Seriously, Halo 3 shirt for 80 MS points or less = sold.

MS has mentioned this as a possibility, and I think that they said it would be an option for any developer that wants to use them.
lmao. you just wait until Home hits - then you'll see milkage on an epic scale, like nothing we've seen before. call 'em cows for a reason ;)
So Shadow, are you saying I'm going to have to pay money for my avatar?
Like people have already said, its not milkage.
