Will the Next Gen Console Thats First to ...

I know with PS2 and Xbox and now PS3 and 360 it's proven to be true, about first come first place and i'm not talking about sales (Wii owners).I'm talking about real next gen games and hardware with hi-def graphics, Hard drives and more, can Microsoft hold on to it's lead on Sony, since it's strongly rumored Sony doesn't plan on releasing a new console until 2016, or will Sony feel the pressure when Microsoft does release a monster of a console in the near future and speed up the production on the PS4.What do you guy's think ? Will the Next Gen Console Thats First to ...

It was all announced at E3 2006 and Sony was quoted by the media in saying that '' The Playstation 3 will have a minimum shelf life of 10 years and there will be no new console release before that''. Thats where i got it from.

No, no, that's a very common misunderstanding. The 10 year lifespan means the PS3 will be supported for that long, it doesn't mean we won't see a PS4 for 10 years. Sony said the same thing about the PS2- it was Sony's main console for 5 years and after the PS3 launched, it gets another 5 years of support as their secondary console. It'll be the same with the PS3.
Well, no and yes.No, For example the 360, was released first, but had Huge problems with RROD's and such, rushing a consoles first to the market is not the smartet idea, ESP when you overlook such a trivial thing as Hardware mistakes.Yes, in the fact of sales, having your console first to the market is a good thing, haveing users wait months for another next gen console could grab in sales for you, most people want the Best thing out on the market right nowIt has its ups and downs, but releasing your system first thinking ''this system will kill everyone'' is a lie, look at this gen, WII is leading in sales, but just because you lead in sales, does not mean you have the software or hardware to back it up, and thats the main problem with the WII.
the 360 is beating the wii? this is news for sure
