Socom Confrontation sold more, now that's just ownage to the killer app
I knew this game would be a sales flop, critically amazing but sales flop.
Of course this volatile market is a lot of crap, maybe if Sony leanred to advertise like Microsoft...cough 2.2 million in a day.Volatile Holiday Market Partly To Blame ...

I bought it. I play it. I enjoy it. Why would I care?
Do you ever want a sequel?
Do you ever want a sequel?
They have already been announced.
It's pretty obvious why this game isn't selling -- look at it.
I never understood why Sony or anyone in general was expecting the game to be a ''killer app.'' Its a niche game designed for those with the patience to sit there for hours on end making their own stuff. Most casual and non-gamers like having everything predetermined so they can just ''get to the fun'' and be done with it.
LBP commercials are pretty bad, and Socom has a pretty good following. If Halo got a 6.5 it would still sell. Socom is not Halo but you get the idea
Or maybe its just not selling as well as expected because of the people who generally own the PS3?Either way, its selling well, and will sell over time too
I'll give it one more chance, if sales don't pick up after November and December. Sony should just focus on advertising the real killer apps like Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3, etc.
i didnt get LBP yet cause i wanted first to see how its received by gamers and let the community grow and see what they create (custom made levels)... seems like there are some talented guys out there who created some interesting levels.. i plan in picking up LBP for xmas since i'd have more free time during the holiday period and can have a go creating a couple of levels....
I don't know, if I had 40-50 hours of free time, creating ONE LBP level that 10 people might play (if your level does't get modded for referencing pop culture) would not be on the top of my list. To each his own, I guess.

My brothers friend, who plays WoW, Trauma Center, Call of Duty, Wario Ware... all sorts of games... says that LBP looks pointless and childish. Unfortunately, that's exactly what the game looks like if you don't know much about it.
Yeah but SOCOM has a hufe fan base, plus now the servers are better the game is really good.

I was on the fence about this one. If you look back last year every cow was talking up LBP. ALmost every one your spoke to said that they'll be getting it, but than like a month before release you asked the same people and they were like 'nah I'm not to intrested in that game.' It sucks that this game got so much praise and won innovative awards only to have it dwendel away just before release.
I bought it. I play it. I enjoy it. Why would I care?
Because if it doesn't sell reasonably well, there's a very real chance the developers will have to move on to something that will bring in the big bucks.

Do you ever want a sequel?
They have already been announced.
Yes, because announcing a sequel always means a sequel will be made, just like Advent Rising...oh wait!
Nothing but LBP is to blame for the poor sales of LBP. Right now it's suffering from Zack and Wiki syndrome... despite it being a great game it's clear for whatever reason it doesn't greatly appeal to the PS3 fanbase. To blame any kind of market volatility for its poor showing makes no sense, it would only make sense if games were doing poorly across the board (and when looking at WotLK, Fallout 3, Gears 2, Fable 2 all burn up the charts, it's clear that isn't the case.)
