GTA IV again...

right the hype died down and everything but I wasnt a member of this board back then...This game is alright, definitely not bad.  I have the PS3 version so that's what I'm gonna be talking about here, but I doubt the X360 was really all that different.Wasn't the framerate freaking attrocious?!  And don't tell me it's my PS3, I bought a brand new one for it, and then that PS3 was stolen (no BS, my PS3 got facking stolen at uni) but thankfully insurance covered it and lord knows it's just as slow on my new PS3.  Honestly, the framerate drops soooo badly, even if you're doing something minor like driving down a sidewalk mowing into pedestrians - the physix seriously fug it up.My fave GTA was Vice City on the PC, for the sole fact that it was the fastest and the killing spree rampages you could do on it were unprecedented.  Also, I loved using the M4 in particular - GTA VC M4 is actually among my two favourite guns ever to use in a videogame; the other being the shotgun from Doom.  The way it sounded, the way you could see the bullets shooting out, the smoke shooting out sideways and the shells being released from the sides, WOW, you gotta love that headshot (I recommend you try it right now).  The killing sprees could get ridiculous when you've got the whole city after you on 6 stars, blowing it all up with rocket launchers etc.  I'd show it to you, but my PC is too crap to record it with fraps; I really wish I could demonstrate the ownage.Anyway, my point is that the scale of mayhem you could cause is significantly limited by the PS3 (and I'm sure the X360).  When you've got 6 stars, the game gets wayyyy too jittery to perform an exercise in chaos.  The game itself is certainly not bad, but it's just freaking limited.  When it comes onto the PC that's when it will really shine; but let's face it most of us aren't gonna spend £2458972398572 to upgrade our internets machines.  The worst part is how most reviewers told us that there weren't any framerate issues... were they smoking crack or what?? GTA IV again...

Nah, the game is identical on both platforms. I've heard that the framerate is supposed to be really bad, but I never noticed it.
