With M$ lack of 1st parties, they would have to find a great 3rd party and outsource it to them. The other sad fact is a game like GOW wouldn't necessarily use XBOX LIVE, and M$ would probably prefer to spend money on titles that push the SALES OF XBOX LIVE. TOO HUMAN tried to make that happen pushing XBOX LIVE, with a GOW/Diablo feel, but failed.  
Why would MS want to clone God of war when there's always Nnja Giaden (which, in my opinion, is the superior game out of the two...gameplay wise of course)

I would say Ninja Gaiden is MS' action/combat hack and slasher. As far as combat, I prefer it to GOW, but Gaiden's stories suck.
We had Ninja Gaiden but Itagaki left, at least the last game was awesome apart from the first few levels.



Either way...we need one badly. I hope someone else picks up on Ninja Gaiden...
The chances of a clone happening on the xbox 360 is very slim in my opinion.
Didn't the ninja gaiden series end with 2? Well, at least that's what Itagaki said.No more Ninja Gaiden...But it looks like From Software are continuing the trend...all we can do is hope Ninja Blade proves to be a better experience when compare to Ninja gaiden....I'm doubting it...but....hopefully.
Its already happening next year. Its called Darksiders:Wrath of War. It will also be released on PS3, but will be on 360 and looks to be a God of War clone, and a good one at that.
There was a clone, that cheap Conan game. Fun for an hour or so.
there was 99 nights which was a miserable flop / hacknslash. i guess the xbox doesn't have a killer hacknslash besides ng2 (which was reasonble)
They could clone GoW all they want.

wasn't god of war sony's answer to ninja gaiden? so it's really the other way around
Check out Conan on Xbox 360, that game is awesome. I liked it BETTER than GOW.
Its called Ninja Gaiden.
Darksiders looks interesting.
It's not a clone, but they already surpassed GoW with NG2.
