The ESRB should split the T-Rating into ...

Lately, much fuss has been made about how in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Midway had to censor several fatalities in the US version in order to meet the ESRB's standards for a T-rating. It's pretty much unheard of that in the US, a game gets censored for violence but not in Europe, so that got me thinking-- in Europe, they have more rating categories than in the US. Why is it that the ESRB felt it was necessary to split the E rating into E and E10+, and yet the T rating remains unchanged? Wouldn't it be more beneficial for everyone if T was split into T-13 and T-15? This would take less strain off of the M-rating which currently has to be inclusive enough to include games that were barely too much for a T rating, and at the same time it would give an alternative measure to liscensors and publishers who don't want to put out an M-rated game, but still want to be able to make something for older gamers. What I know for sure, is that Joker's fatality would not have had to be censored if MK vs. DCU had been rated ''T15'' instead of ''T.''The ESRB should split the T-Rating into ...
No. Lower the T-13 to T-12 in that case...stupid having a 2 year gap. Must be 3 at least. The ESRB should split the T-Rating into ...
I think its a good idea.
I was thinking the same thing. It could work, but the age gap is a bit small.
It might not be a bad idea , it works the other way to. Parents are buying Heavenly Sword or Uncharted and thinking they are safe for their young teens because of the T , but those games are more violent than a lot of M-Rated games.
No. What should be done is the system regressed back into three separate, non-confusing categories. E, for everyone. T, for teenagers 13 and older. M, for adults 18 and over. None of this M/AO bull**** that imposes on developers' freedom of expression by making them commit commercial suicide if they get an AO.
T-13 to T-16 sounds better.
they censored the US version but not the one for Europe  damn
E for everyone, T for teenagers and M for +18 and remove AO.

If we are adult enough to vote we should be adult enough to be able to see some (in game) nipples or someone get (in game) tortured.
their should beET 13+T 16+M 18+  Its stupied to have M 17+ and Ao 18+, what were they thinking.
No. Lower the T-13 to T-12 in that case...stupid having a 2 year gap. Must be 3 at least.
Then there would be a two year gap between E10 and T-12. Also, T-15 to M is only two years. M to A is only one year.
I'll tell you what the ESRB should do:..... GET RID OF THE ''AO'' RATING!
Personally I hate how there's ''ratings'' to begin with. ESRB ratings sometimes dictate design decisions, where those decisions should be made freely to be true with the game's intended world.

but the problem with not having ratings is then any little kid can be exposed to extreme violence, i mean how would you feel if your 12 year old was playing manhunt, or i know its not out yet the sexually explicit bayonetta?
no, i don't like that idea.

I like this one.

With the crap that kids can have access to these days? I could careless. However, if I was a parent, it'd be my responsibility to look into what my children are getting into, or about to get into.
More ratings for parents to get confused about = bad idea.

They should get rid of E10+. Make it E,T,T15, and M. As a young kid, there were way too many games I missed out on because of the M rating:(
