http://gear.ign.com/articles/932/932454p1.html Decent, but I'll stick to my keyboard or my official Sony mic which got a solid 9/10.The only positive mentioned was that it was made of good material and that there were dedicaed buttons that allowed you to access your friends list and message box in an instant. Here are the negatives: Some Highlights of the Review: ''When it comes right down to it, QWERTY keypads for game controllers are completely counterintuitive. If gamers want to make quick, concise messages, they are more likely to pick up a microphone and talk than to enter the XMB menu, reach up to their keypad, type out a message, fix the inevitable typos, and then send it. Even when out of a game, browsing the Internet or otherwise, user are more likely to turn to a USB mouse and keyboard than a compact keypad that seems better suited for the hands of an Oompa Loompa'' ''poor touch support and ill-advised key design'' the biggest issue I had with the Wireless Keypad is that Sony opted to design it as a top mounted add-on
The process of turning the touch navigation off and on is more tedious than anything else. You have to be able to really concentrate on your tactile senses in order to effectively locate the touch sensor button without looking. But even if you were to look the buttons are really hard to discern with a quick glance. I found that when I wanted to select something, there touch navigation was either too slow or imprecise. Too often I found myself going several items further down the list than I wanted. Worse yet, I found that sometimes when the scrolling would stop, I would select ''Enter'' and at the last minute the delay in the keypad's response would cause me to select something I didn't want. The touch sensitivity seems inconsistent at best, and certain areas of the keypad seem to be more reactive than others. The other major issue I found with the keypad was how you go about enabling the touch scrolling and navigation. The device requires that you push a dedicated button in order to turn the touch sensors on, which doesn't make much sense. IGN Reviews PS3 Chatpad-- Not that Good

AAA[/QUOTE]Flop. Oh well. At least the headset got AAA(9.5). How many AAA accessories do the Wii and 360 have this year

Why didnt they just rip off the 360 one, even though you may think NOTHING beats a KB, the chatpad is still fast and intuitive.

(sighs) Just when I think all the straws have been drawn.....
If it was a bit cheaper I would get it. Like 20 bones. This is 50 bucks right thats to much for any keypad.

At least from what I've read-- everyone had criticisms of it. I myself was particularly optimistic, but alas it's not so great
